- NMB48 has three sections called Team N, Team M, and Team BII. Team N has 16 members, with Sayaka Yamamoto and Kei Jonishi as co-captains. Team M has 18 members, with Reina Fujie and Ayaka Okita as co-captains. Team BII has 18 members, with Emika Kamieda and Ayaka Umeda as co-captains.
- The group was formed in 2011, and has gone through several lineup changes since that time. NMB48 shares several members with its sister group, AKB48.
