You’re the King but I’m not your Queen.”

R-Chord (謝和弦) did an amazing collaboration with Jess Lee (李佳薇) to perform the song “All Endings Are Beginnings” (不愛,也是愛我). Written by R-Chord and Chen Tian You (陳天佑), the song talks about a relationship that ended because the couple finds themselves incompatible. However, the separation is a painful one as it is filled with happy memories, where they have tried their best to live with together and love each other. The song is composed by Skot Suyama (陶山), which fuses R-Chord and Jess’ distinctive styles by weaving ballad singing into rap. R-Chord and Jess each sings from the male and female’s perspective to produce a powerful and emotive piece, expressing the pain and regret of a couple with an unblossomed love.

The music video featured a group of contemporary dancers, with dindin and SaM as the main protagonists. It shows the couple going through a painful breakup at a dining table, saying their last goodbyes, before expressing their heartaches with movement of their body. The choreography of the dance complements well with the mood and meaning of the song, which perfectly expresses the intense and painful regret of the breakup. The video ended with the couple pulling out the table cloth, messing up all the food and cutleries on the dining table, signifying a clean end to the relationship.

So do not be too upset if you’re going through a breakup, because only when good things fall apart, better things can come together.
