LIFE STYLE ft. 漢 a.k.a. GAMI, D.O by SALU features as the second track on his album, INDIGO. The song cleverly deals with the human condition of present day youth by considering the issues of their dreams and aspirations, their material desires, as well as the need for money to purchase what they want to fulfill their desires.

The MV is filmed from the perspective of a convenience store clerk watching a large group of carefree youth and older men heavily involved in nightlife entering his store, making him reflect on his life and wishfully desire to be in their position instead. From the depiction of these customers dancing in the aisles of the store, appearing to have no intention of paying for their items, coupled with the lyrics of “stirring up a RAP GAME” and wanting to “POP CHAMPAGNE”, viewers are initially fooled into mistaking them to be solely irresponsible people with no direction in life.

However, this is intelligently subverted at the end of the video, when it is revealed that this was all just in the imagination of the young store clerk, who is jolted out of his reverie by the customer waiting to pay for his items. This presents the clear break between fantasy and reality, where although he imagines himself joining their ranks, the truth is that he still is in his job.

Ultimately, what we should take away from the song is that while we too, share in the same desire to “get it all”, we should remember that what we do in the present is simply “sowing the seeds of the future”, and only if we handle the present, which is our only reality, properly, will the future blossom in the way we imagined.
