Marble by SKY-HI is the title track of his latest album, which also shares the same name. The song’s main theme is that one should view life as an intricate art piece with vibrant colors.

The lyrics, written by Mitsuhiro Hidaka himself, repeatedly make references to different colors, and lights of different colors, discussing how everyone should grow to be capable of appreciating how every individual can shine in their own way, in their own unique color, without jealousy, calling on listeners to open their eyes to the subjective beauty of life, and how everyone paints their own life in certain ways that fit them most.

The visuals also complement this theme of subjectivity and individual perspectives in viewing life, as the entire video features the artist dancing solitarily, while the colors around him change, further reinforcing the theme that while the “color” of our surroundings in life may change, it is up to the individual to find the beauty in the myriad, colors of life.

We too, should remember that beauty is always in the eye of the beholder as we craft and experience our own, unique lives. SKY-HI is currently on tour, with multiple live events in Japan until the 12th of December.
