“Kuroi Shizuku” is the theme song for Japanese TV drama Mutsu: Mieru Me. Entirely composed by Ochi, the song is the title track for her latest single “Black Drop & Coupling Songs: ‘Side B’”, which was released on December 2, 2015 under Warner Music Japan.
In the music video, Ochi’s performance gives off a vibe that’s both powerful and mischievous. As the lyrics discuss the pureness and darkness of the heart, the video plays with stark contrasts between colors by having masked dancers dress in quirky black and white patterns in a black and white set. The symmetrical appearances, black and white costumes, and different sizes of floating black and white dots produce visuals almost like optical illusions.
