"Licorice" is one of the tracks on THE ORAL CIGARETTE's newest album, titled "UNOFFICIAL." that will be coming out on February 1st. Composed and written by Takuya Yamanaka, "Licorice" is an ambiguously lead song with equally ambiguous lyrics. One interpretation is that "Licorice" is about the way we smother ourselves, working hard not to rock the boat; but ultimately break out of that pattern to pursue love and go out searching for tangible proof of our own existence -- something that shows "I was here." But then, sometimes, our ideas about the importance of now vs the future can change, and we may come to value living in the present over worrying about leaving proof of our existence; resting assured that the proof is there.

The events and the tarot cards which play out in the MV may be thought to represent all these competing thoughts, worries, and desires; present in the mind of every person.

THE ORAL CIGARETTES Kuchibiru One Man Tour UNOFFICIAL BRUNCH TOUR 2017 is scheduled for March 2017 and has three performance dates. Also in March 2017, they will participating in the Space Shower Retsuden ASIA TOUR 2017 and performing in Thailand, Singapore, and Taiwan. Then from April 6th through June 16th 2017, they will continue to have their Kuchibiru One Man Tour 2017, which features many stops all over Japan.
